A6 cards are generally used for invitations (birthday, wedding, dinner, etc.), announcements, as well as save-the-dates. It’s also perfect size for product advertising, promotions and ecommerce. Thank-you notes work on a thick card in either Matte or Gloss finish.

Yes. You can. But it’s not as simple as it sounds. Cardstock is a thick paper and sometimes difficult to print on because you need to account for the thickness of the sheet itself. It’s also very heavy, which makes it hard to handle and transport, so you need to take care when handling the finished product. Generally, home printers are able to handle up to 250gsm cardstock – any thicker, and the paper may jam.

If your printer is capable of printing on multiple materials such as glossy or matte cardstock, then you should be able to use these paper types in combination with your inkjet printer.

Officeworks in Australia advertise they are able to print on cardstock up to and including 300gsm.

Watercolours can be used on many different paper surfaces, it also works on cardstock. You can watercolour on cardstock. But the paper should be thick, porous, durable, and super smooth. You do however need to be careful and not get the paper too wet because this can damage the cardstock. If you want to try wet technique, you should go with professional watercolour paper.
Leyton is sized with gelatine, it includes animal elements, not vegan friendly.

Watercolour paper has two sides which vary slightly in texture. If the paper is watermarked, you can identify the felt side by holding the paper up to the light and finding the side from which the watermark reads correctly. Pads, blocks, and packs of cylinder mould-made paper are generally presented with the felt side up. However, because the paper is evenly sized on both sides, they are equally suitable for painting on. We recommend inspecting and feeling the texture on both sides of the paper before you start painting to see which one you prefer.

The name “deckle” comes from a tool called a deckle, which is a wooden frame used in the process of papermaking. With handmade paper, as the wet pulp dries it seeps between the deckle and the mould. During this process there is some run-off which gradually thins at the edges resulting in irregular edging, or a deckle edge.

With handmade art paper, the deckled edges tend to be a soft, feathery edge that gradually becomes thinner at the end. Since it is softer and thinner, it is also more delicate. This is common with books, scrapbooking, and watercolour papers. Many wedding invitations, stationery, greeting cards, cardstock, and higher end paper products also have a deckled edge. These often have what is called a faux deckle edge, where a machine cuts the edge of the paper to create a ragged (somewhat rippled) decorative edging for ornamental effect. Since these edges are cut rather than created naturally, they tend to be stronger.

ATCs are small works of art that you can trade with another artist. You add your own details to the back of the ATCs, along with a brief description of the technique and media used, thereby learning through sharing. These cards may be only small in size (2.5 × 3.5 inches or 64 × 89 mm) but the potential for creating all sorts of art projects with them is huge.

ATCs took off in the late 1990s, and have developed into a popular but serious art form, even featuring in art exhibitions. There are avid ATC collectors out there too.

You may use coloured cards and envelopes for mailing if there is no interference with the reading of the information or postmark. First and foremost, the mailing recipient’s information should be clear and legible. The colour contrast between the written information and the mail piece background must be kept at a reasonable degree. A brilliant coloured background or reverse printing is not permitted.

Black is sometimes represented as a scary colour, like for Halloween. In marketing, however, it shows dignity. It’s good to combine black with lighter colours to demonstrate your company has fun with the product or service but also takes it seriously.

Acid-free paper is paper that, if infused in water, yields a neutral or basic pH (7 or slightly greater). It can be made from any cellulose fibre as long as the active acid pulp is eliminated during processing. It is also lignin– and sulfur-free. Acid-free paper addresses the problem of preserving documents and preserving artwork for long periods.

Most courier companies don’t give narrow delivery windows, or do “call on approach”. Customers are notified via email if goods will be delivered on the day. So please check your email, or keep tracking your items online. When it says “On board with the driver for delivery today”, then it will be delivered on that day.
